At Scope Psychology Services Australia, we believe in providing an affordable service for clients and aim to ensure that finances do not prevent someone from being able to access help and support when needed.  Our professional body, the Australian Psychological Society (APS) recommends $267 per 50-minute session, however our fees are substantially lower than this.

How much does Neurodiversity Screening Cost?

Our Neurodiversity Screening service is a one-time cost of $80.00.

If you decide to continue with a full diagnostic assessment or therapy with Scope after the screening service, we’ll waive our new client fee ($50.00).

It’s a small investment, potentially saving you hundreds of dollars for a comprehensive assessment that you’re unsure if you really need.

How much does therapy and assessment cost?

Cancellation Policy

A missed appointment is a loss to three people: the client who missed the valuable time, another client who could have used the valuable time and the practitioner who was fully-staffed and prepared for the appointment.

In order to make our services affordable to all our clients, we have implemented a cancellation policy that helps us protect our appointment availability:

  • We kindly ask for a minimum of 24 hours notice for any appointment cancellations, as this allows us to allocate that time to other clients in need of care.
  • If you cancel within 24 hours of your appointment, we reserve the right to charge a cancellation fee of 50% of the appointment cost.
  • If you fail to show up for your appointment or repeatedly cancel subsequent appointments without proper notice, a cancellation or “no-show” fee of 50% will be charged.

We understand that unforeseen circumstances can arise, and we will do our best to accommodate any changes to your schedule whenever possible. However, we kindly ask for your understanding and cooperation in adhering to our cancellation policy, which helps us provide timely and effective care to all our clients.

Notes for Psychological Therapy Services

  • A Medicare rebate is available with a GP referral for a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP).
  • All fees are eligible for private health rebates, however, you must check directly with your fund and level of cover.
  • Fees are payable at the time of consultation, unless funded through NDIS or an approved third party.
  • At the conclusion of each 50-minute counselling session, please allow 10 minutes for your practitioner to complete follow-up tasks.

Notes for Assessment Services

  • Assessment sessions and report writing hours are rounded to the nearest half hour. Fees are payable as assessments are undertaken/pay as you go.
  • The total cost of assessment ranges depending on the amount of time required. We will provide a comprehensive quote upon enquiry.
  • Reports will not be sent until payment for the assessment service has been received in full.
  • If you are unable to travel to the clinic or live outside of Brisbane (including interstate and international), we offer our full range of assessment services 100% online.
  • All fees are eligible for private health rebates, however, you must check directly with your fund and level of cover.

Notes for NDIS Participants

  • We provide assessment, recommendation, therapy and training with a psychologist with full or provisional registration with AHPRA, a behaviour support practitioner or another suitably qualified professional. This is funded through NDIS Therapeutic Supports.
  • NDIS participants will be required to sign a service agreement to commence services. This includes existing clients transitioning to support as an NDIS participant.
  • If you are unable to access our clinic, we offer our full range of services online. We do not offer home, school, or workplace visits unless they are required as a once-off for assessment purposes.
  • Scope is now a registered NDIS provider, so we can support self-managed, plan-managed and NDIA-managed participants.
