Registered Psychologist
What services do you offer at Scope?

I provide services for all ages, including therapy to manage:

  • Identity and self-esteem
  • Boundaries and assertiveness
  • Grief and loss
  • Anxiety and depression
  • Self-harm and suicidal ideation
  • Healthy relationships and attachment
  • Life transitions

Who would benefit from seeing you?

Generally, my clients are experiencing challenges within one or several of their important relationships. For example, with their partner, a sibling, a boss, a parent, or even with themselves.

              What values underpin your approach?

My personal values of integrity, compassion and curiosity also guide my work. I believe it is so important to meet people where they are at, and get to know the person and their story. I am a gentle and intuitive therapist; I tend to take a conversational approach to my sessions and value the benefit that comes from bringing light-heartedness and laughter into sessions. My goal is for therapy to feel like a safe, reflective and illuminating conversation with a trusted ally.

What has your psychology journey looked like?

I have Bachelor degrees in Education and Psychology, and a Master degree in Educational and Developmental Psychology. My background as a primary school teacher and training in educational and developmental psychology means I have unique knowledge and skills about how humans change and develop from infancy to older adulthood.

I have a passion for attachment and relationships - I enjoy working with teenagers, young adults and adults to support: identity and self-esteem, mental health, boundaries and assertiveness, grief and loss, anxiety and depression, self-harm and suicidal ideation, relationship breakdown or rupture, and major transition periods in life.

What do you find rewarding about being a psychologist?

It can be scary seeing a psychologist for the first time, and part of my job as a psychologist is to debunk some of that fear. I believe that there is so much bravery involved in taking steps toward understanding yourself and others. It’s very rewarding to sit with a person to help them untangle whatever it is that brought them to our clinic; to see people have their own ‘ah ha’ moments, is wonderfully rewarding. Every person I work with has a unique story; so every hour of my day is different, and rewarding in its own way.

Why do you like working at Scope?

I love coming to work at Scope. Right across the river, in a beautiful location, in a space that embodies calmness and support. It’s wonderful to be surrounded by a team of practitioners and support staff who all genuinely care about the wellbeing of our clients, and about each other.

What are some of your personal interests?

Outside of work, I love being active, spending quality time with friends and family. My ultimate weekend might see me enjoying good food with loved ones, taking my dog for a walk along the river and venturing out to see live music, art or theatre.
