Individual psychological therapy strives to help you restore your mental health and regain optimal functioning – whether you are challenged by anxiety, depression, stress or adjustment. We offer a safe, non-judgemental therapeutic environment so people feel heard and understood, process emotions effectively, learn new skills and take away practical strategies to use in everyday life.
Online therapy has all the benefits of face-to-face therapy, but can be accessed by anyone, anywhere and at anytime. Whether you’re in the city or in rural and remote regions of Australia, you can access our services from the comfort of your own home, school or office.
Neurodiversity Screening is a service we’ve developed to help people understand whether they have clinically significant symptoms to pursue psychological assessment, for ADHD, autism or both. This service is provided 100% online through a series of questionnaires, and at a much more affordable price point compared to neurocognitive assessment.
Psychological assessment plays a very important role in diagnosing and assisting adults and children with autism. Our assessment process has four stages: Intake, Assessment, Feedback and Report Writing. With each assessment you will receive a comprehensive report including evidence-based recommendation, a feedback session that deconstructs the assessment and report in an easy way to understand, and ongoing guidance for your next steps.
Deciding if an individual has ADHD is a process with several steps, and there is no single test to diagnose it. Many other problems, like sleep disorders, anxiety, depression, and certain types of learning disabilities, can have similar symptoms, so it is important for ADHD to be diagnosed professionally by a trained psychologist.
Specific Learning Disorder
Specific learning disorders are neurodevelopmental disorders that are characterised by difficulties with reading, writing or numeracy.
Individuals with dyslexia may have difficulties reading and spelling.
Individuals with dyscalculia may have difficulties with math, numbers and numeracy.
Individuals with dysgraphia may have difficulties with writing.
Intellectual Disability Assessment
Intellectual Disability assessment (formally called intellectual developmental disorder) plays a fundamental process for individuals with an intellectual impairment in helping to identify strengths, areas of need and accessing NDIS support. An assessment provides a detailed report with evidence-based recommendations, which can be used to become an NDIS participant and access support. After assessment you can also access ongoing guidance from a psychologist in the form of therapy.
Gifted and Talented Assessment
‘Gifted’ is a general term that refers to an ‘overall’ aptitude, or outstanding natural ability for intellectual, creative, social or physical domains. Psychologists measure intellectual giftedness via an IQ score that is calculated through administration of specific assessment tools. ‘Talented’ is a more specific term that refers to the outstanding mastery of a certain skill. Talent can be measured by experts in the specific area where your mastery lies. Psychologists can identify academic talents through administration of specific assessment tools.
Therapy Assist for NDIS
Therapy assist is designed to support NDIS participants transfer therapy skills into everyday life. This service can be added alongside or commenced with our other therapy services, and is delivered by our specialist therapy assistants, utilising positive behaviour support frameworks.
If your NDIS plan includes funding you can access NDIS assessment and support at Scope Psychology Services Australia. Our team provides NDIS assessment services for clients who need an updated diagnosis, to be reassessed or who think they may have another diagnosis. We will complete assessment, and provide therapy to increase skills, independence and community participation.
