Therapy Assist for NDIS

Therapy assist is designed to support NDIS participants transfer therapy skills into everyday life. This service can be added alongside or commenced with our other therapy services, and is delivered by our specialist therapy assistants, utilising positive behaviour support frameworks.

Our NDIS team is available from Tuesday through to Friday every week. If you would like to access our NDIS services, please phone (07) 3162 8448 and select menu option 2.

Who would benefit from therapy assist?

NDIS participants who either:

  1. Communicate their needs in ways that may be unsafe
  2. Have difficulty processing information
  3. Have difficulty participating in society, impacting their quality of life.

Therapy Assist FAQs

How much does therapy assist cost?

(+$50.00 new client fee)

  • Therapy assistant$86.79 per hour or part thereof
  • Provisionally Registered Psychologist$156.16 per hour or part thereof
  • Registered Psychologist$214.41 per hour or part thereof.

 

What is the therapy assist process?
  1. An initial functional assessment (including interviews with home, school, work, etc.)
  2. Selection of most suitable therapy assistant
  3. Planning meeting with therapy assistant and psychologist to develop a treatment plan
  4. For some participants, the senior therapy assistant will develop an individualised behaviour monitoring form to gather more detail and evaluate the effectiveness of the treatment plan
  5. Regular review sessions with caregivers, stakeholders and the participant, to review behavioural data, progress toward meeting goals, modification and new strategies.

  • In our Bulimba clinic
  • The Brisbane community (library, school etc.)
